The Role

Based in New York, the Logistics & Inventory Director, Americas will be responsible for developing and maintaining the strategy and operations to support the internal property flow throughout all Christie’s locations in the Americas. These responsibilities include managing the Logistics’ P&L, leading the art handling team, and ensuring an effective, efficient and secure supply chain process.

 

Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to

  • Design, implement and execute the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) strategy
  • Lead the Logistics team of 60+employees
  • Manage relationships and performance of new and existing vendors
  • Manage warehousing and distribution of our property among various locations
  • Manage relationships with and monitor performance of our logistics partners; oversee development of systems and processes to continually improve performance
  • Collaborate with management team to ensure the client’s journey is well developed and maintained throughout the sale lifecycle
  • Advise finance variances between existing forecasts, budgets, and actuals
  • Develop and execute strategies to ensure sufficient capacity and redundancy exist at each stage
  • Assess feasibility of building in-house, outsourcing, or automating logistics & warehousing capabilities; lead development of initiatives as selected
  • Perform root-cause analysis and proactively identify and correct all people, process, and behavior related process deficiencies from Christie’s to 3rd party vendors

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Excellent influencing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities and comfort with operations metrics
  • Ability to manage and lead large organizations
  • Ability to generate and quickly execute upon the synthesis and analyses of extensive data
  • Self-motivated and highly results-driven
  • Outstanding project management and cross-functional leadership skills
