Regional Financial Controller

Position Summary
You will be responsible for managing all elements of transactional finance and associated reporting and analysis (including informational needs for commercial decision support) whilst driving and leading operational change in country and across EMERI Finance (France, Italy, Switzerland) as appropriate.

Primary Responsibilities
Leadership

  • Provide financial leadership, advice, support, insight and challenge in determining and delivering financial controllership services within country and region.
  • Manage the Region team to drive and develop the individuals within the team, champion change, quickly escalate and resolve any potential issues and develop a positive and productive working relationship across the teams.
  • In France, manage the Financial Accounting team and supervise the day-to-day work of the Client Accounting Team, which reports to the Global Managing Director, Client Account Management.
  • Make sure that resources are appropriately allocated to the needs.

​​Managing Stakeholder Relationships

  • Work closely with Local Managing Directors and General Managers and develop effective relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the other Regional Controllers and Group Financial Controller to drive effective ways of working, sharing of information, managing stakeholder expectations and role model effective leadership behaviours to encourage the teams to perform to the best of their abilities.
  • Drive accountability and the right behaviours across the finance community and with key stakeholders.

 Financial information and reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of all transactions and associated financial information.
  • Manage all elements of accounting operations.
  • Improving and maintaining a robust and efficient financial reporting process.
  • Develop a positive and productive working relationship with the Commercial Finance team to drive a proactive and value adding Finance function.
  • Stay up to speed with external compliance requirements or Law changes to proactively adjust our ways of working as and when needed.

 Process Improvement Champion

  • Identify inefficiencies/bottlenecks in end-to-end processes within the team and actively ‘challenge the status-quo’.
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller to define effective ways of working and operating across the respective Regions.
  • Participate and drive implementation of new initiatives associated with Finance Change Projects

 Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, accountancy qualification with minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Finance champion who is always striving to improve processes while ensuring existing processes are robust and working as designed.
    Leadership attitude with the ability to mentor and develop staff at all levels, both within and out of your direct team.
  • Commercial expertise and operational finance experience
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong business and client awareness
  • Advocate of change and ability to innovate and implement change in a positive way.
