Job Summary & Responsibilities

Tate Enterprises Ltd. is the trading arm of Tate. Its chief areas of operation are retailing on four sites, publishing (both Tate exhibition catalogues and general art books, as well as illustrated children’s books), product development, picture library and licensing.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Sales Manager for the shops at Tate Britain. The successful candidate will drive sales through an empowered and motivated sales team, achieve sales budgets, deliver Company goals and will be a support to the Retail Manager and Senior Sales Manager in all aspects of running the shops. This is a fixed term position until March 2019.
If successful you will manage a team of full-time and part-time staff and be responsible for an individual shop, so significant experience gained at management level is a must. Experience gained in the heritage sector or in a busy, high profile retailer is desirable; and good commercial acumen is necessary.
The Sales Manager will be able to inspire and motivate the sales team to provide great customer service, and to exceed sales budgets and KPIs. The successful candidate will be able to work to a sales budget and to demonstrate year on year success, as well as having proven experience of recognising poor performing areas and implementing solutions for improvement.
The Sales Manager will be able to work effectively, independent of supervision, be a proven problem-solver and a genuine all-rounder. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be friendly and open, and able to communicate at all levels. We are looking for someone who is flexible, resilient, resourceful and loves a challenge. We will require availability to work on a rota basis, including weekends, late shifts and bank holidays.
The ideal candidate will have had exposure to a wide range of products from fast moving souvenirs to limited edition or high-end items, as well as books relating to art and culture. The Sales Manager will have the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to manage a team selling such a broad range of stock whilst delivering fantastic customer service.
If this is you, we’d love to hear from you. This role is ideal for an assistant manager or supervisor who is willing to take the next challenge in retail management.
Please note, if you are shortlisted for this position interviews will take place on the 5th June 2018.
We offer great benefits, staff training, performance and service awards, great discounts in our shops and catering outlets, Employee Assistance Program, Cycle scheme and free entry to exhibitions for our employees and their friends and family.
