Job Summary & Responsibilities

Tate Enterprises Ltd. is the trading arm of Tate. Its chief areas of operation are retailing on four sites, publishing (both Tate exhibition catalogues and general art books, as well as illustrated children’s books), product development, picture library and licensing.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Retail Team Leader to join Tate St Ives shop to support the Retail Manager on a permanent basis for 3 days a week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for opening and closing the shop and for supervising daily operations. The Retail Team Leader will be required to deputise for the Retail Manager, so proven experience at supervisory level, ideally gained in the heritage sector or a high profile retailer is a must.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with proven experience of leading teams and the ability to delegate to Retail Assistants and to communicate confidently at all levels. To be successful you must be passionate about raising revenue for Tate, be an ambassador for the brand and demonstrate exemplary behaviour in all areas of your job, being a role model to staff and a support to management.
The Retail Team Leader will be able to work effectively, independent of supervision, be self-motivated and a proven problem-solver. We are looking for someone who is flexible, resourceful and loves a challenge. The successful candidate will be able to inspire and motivate the team to provide great customer service and have the ability to occasionally oversee two busy shops when deputising for the Retail Manager. 
The ideal candidate will have had exposure to a wide range of products from fast moving pocket money goods, to limited edition and high-end items, and be a confident visual merchandiser.
