Client Strategy Analyst – Impressionist & Modern Art

Responsible for providing analysis and reporting to support the sales cycle for the cluster, updating and maintaining client and object data integrity, and providing client strategy support to the department.
Key Responsibilities (Duties include but are not limited to the following):
Sale Support:
Responsible for supporting Impressionist & Modern sales across EMERI:-
  • Provide distribution lists for all catalogues, direct mail and e-marketing, using artist searches and any other relevant information
  • Identify potential consignors for auction and private sales using Christie’s systems
  • Identify potential buyers by researching comparable past lots that were offered for sale using Christie’s systems and add relevant clients to the interest list
  • Create targeting lists for potential buyers and send emails to relevant Client Team Leaders (CTLs) and colleagues to ensure potential buyers are alerted to the relevant lots in the sale
  • Arrange and run pre-sale interest meetings and keep the interest list up to date at all times with prospective and actual sale activity, as required
  • Create guest lists for any events associated with the sale, as required
  • Attend auctions and co-ordinate ‘spotting’ to ensure room bidder activity is entered into the client database (COS)
  • Prepare post-sale analysis and reports and ensure they are available in a timely manner
  • Arrange and run post-sale debrief including following-up action points with Specialists
Data Management:
  • Maintain and update catalogue subscription lists on a regular basis
  • Responsible for ensuring Christie’s Client Database (COS) and all internal systems are accurate and up-to-date with all required information
  • Collate and maintain relevant lists for Client Strategy and Business Management and generate reports as required
  • Assist with interviewing specialists and other client-facing staff to gather Client and Object data, maintain minutes and follow-up action points and ensures the data is entered into COS
  • Assist with Regional reviews in conjunction with departmental Specialists, Regional Representatives, Client Strategy Manager and Client Strategy Director
  • Working with the department’s Object Intelligence team, ensure all object information is entered in the database including any relevant valuation (single or multiple objects) to support our pipeline business
  • Maintains wish lists for future reporting and targeting
Administration support:
  • Support in general co-ordination and administration of events and guest lists and work closely with Events team
  • Work with relevant teams to capture event and marketing effectiveness and relevant metrics for future opportunities
  • Provide bespoke information for Proposals team as required
  • Provides support to Client Strategy Manager, Head of Department, Business Director, Client Strategy Director as required
Skills and Experience required:
  • At least 1 year’s work experience in a commercial environment, particularly working with data
  • Bachelor’s degree (as a minimum) in relevant subject
  • An appreciation and understanding of Impressionist & Modern Art
  • Attention to detail with strong accuracy skills and analytical skills
  • Good communicator – verbal & written
  • Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
  • Enthusiastic approach to continuous improvement and best practise
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with diplomacy
  • Good knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint
  • Fluency in another European language an advantage
