   Location: London

Experience: Mid-Senior Level

About the Royal Academy of Arts

Founded in 1768 by a group of artists, the Royal Academy of Arts is an independent charity: we’re still led by great living artists and architects today. We’re celebrating our 250th anniversary year by creating London’s most exciting space for the visual arts. Alongside our incredible new campus, we are renewing our focus on the customers and members who are vital for our success by investing in our people, processes and technical systems.

About this project and position

We call this project the Customer Experience Project, or CX Project. As part of the CX Project, we have implemented a new CRM, ticketing and fundraising system: Tessitura.  We’re looking for an experienced database manager to work with our team as we complete the roll-out of this exciting new system.  We have around 1.2m visitors a year and have around 100,000 members, so making sure we complete this implementation effectively is an organisational priority. In 2019, we completed our move from Enta (our ticketing system) and Raiser’s Edge (our fundraising and membership CRM system) onto Tessitura.

About you

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable data professional, with experience of working with Tessitura, to support the important task of data cleansing to make sure our new system structures and processes are robust and documented. You’ll also support the wider team with training on Tessitura.

We’re looking for someone who is excited by the possibility of changing the way we do things for the better, to help us serve our customers better and secure our financial health for our next 250 years.  You’ll be joining a hard-working and respected team, who enjoy good relationships with colleagues across the organisation.  We’ll be supportive and give you the opportunity to try new things.  This is a rare chance to work on a transformative project at one of the world’s major art institutions.

Please note that this is a six month fixed term contract

What benefits do we offer

  • In addition to 25 days’ holiday and 8 public holidays each year, we close between Christmas Eve and New Year, allowing staff further paid leave.
  • We offer a very generous pension scheme, contributing up to 10% of your salary into a defined contribution scheme.
  • We encourage staff to attend free History of Art and life drawing classes on site. We also have a staff choir, staff gallery and running and craft clubs.
  • Best of all, we have reciprocal agreements with many leading museums and art galleries in London and New York, enabling you to enter for free with your staff pass.
