We are on the hunt for a Development Head to work with a European, Non Profit Arts Organisation.

Founded in Luxembourg, our client is dedicated to the production and wide accessibility of contemporary art internationally. Focusing on productions combining emerging creators and artists with experienced collaborators to ensure the highest quality result, our client is committed to devising new solutions for the accessibility of the art of today, and works in a variety of capacities to aid in the conception and production of unique art projects, as artistic directors or advisors. Led by a volunteer board, they have the long term goal of contributing to a further vision of artistic practice, both by experimenting with its new formats and by realising ground-breaking works in well established artistic fields. Maintaining the role of executive throughout, the organisation selects locations and themes for their projects and then works towards their realisation, producing and executing the projects and working in performance, writing, architecture, music, and fine arts.

Launching this April, they have created a series of projects to be unveiled over the coming year in Athens, Luxembourg, and Switzerland amongst other locations, with a further 2-3 projects annually in the pipeline. This is an exciting opportunity to join a groundbreaking new enterprise with a huge network and structural potential, as it grows.

The Development Head will have a large degree of autonomy, with the potential of joining the Board of Directors in future. The ideal candidate will have a background in development and fundraising, private equity, investor relations, or international business.

The Development Head will:
• Advise and implement financial strategies for new projects
• Source funds through a variety of channels including donations, production memberships and support, grants
• Create and maintain relationships with major donors
• Write grant and funding proposals
• Manage budgets
• Work closely with the Board of Directors to best realise the organisation’s vision.

Person specification:
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proven track record of putting in place strategies to develop and grow business
• Experience of financial management, controls and preparation of financial reports
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to focus and drive to meet goals, deadlines and manage a demanding and varied workload
• Experience and knowledge of implementing successful projects and operations
• Excellent attention to detail with ability to think creatively
• Passionate about art with an interest in art critic/theory

This is a full time (it can also be semi-full time, a set number days a week), permanent role offering a flexible salary dependent on experience, with a generous commission structure. The successful candidate will be based in Europe, with regular international travel.
