Established photography studio seeking a Studio Manager

Our client, an established photography studio working in portraiture and nature photography, is seeking a Studio Manager.
The role within the studio is a mix of personal and creative assistance to the director, being responsive to his needs along with personal admin, project management of studio photography projects, and acting in an advisory capacity to progress the development of the studio’s practice. The aim of the studio manager is to work to meet the goals of the director and grow his media outreach for future sales and photography commissions.
Specific duties include:
  • Drafting emails and keeping on top of communications, looking after studio correspondence and post
  • Looking after the care and maintenance of the studio
  • IT support and managing Excel
  • Ordering stationary supplies, books and materials when needed
  • Diary management
  • Preparing copies of invoices and handling payment
  • Reviewing contracts and agreements between the studio and third parties.
  • Accompanying the Director to meetings where necessary
  • Designing and writing presentations and project proposals
  • Updating Progress reports
  • Importing images into capture one
  • Backing up hard drive images through A and B system and Chrono Sync
  • Filing images through capture one as part of their capture sessions, making image selects, marking up all exposure bracketing of image selects.
  • Exporting images once selects made and sending to the retoucher
  • Writing up retouch notes for images to send to the retoucher
  • Organising quotes and approving costs
  • Sending equipment for service and repair
  • Managing communication between the studio, publisher and contributors
  • Creating timelines, schedules and keeping on top of progress
  • Organising photography release forms where appropriate
  • Sending requests to contributors
Social Media:
  • Posting to Instagram, going through hard drives and finding relevant content. Honing the studio identity.
  • Tweaking images to make suitable for online
  • Creating relevant hashtags and creating engagement with users
  • Researching relevant accounts to follow and engage with
  • Redesign and development of the website – instruct, manage, and redesign
