Marketing Manager – Continuing Education and Online

The Role:

Christie’s Education is a specialist provider of art world education offering continuing education programmes in London, New York and Asia, as well as Online.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth management and delivery of brand consistent, creative, integrated marketing initiatives regionally and internationally, encompassing the full execution of and offline and online activities, with a particular focus on client acquisition and retention for the continuing education and online programmes.

Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

General Marketing

  • Create, implement and execute the marketing strategies, campaigns and assets for all regional continuing education programmes and online courses
  • Produce compelling content with consistent branding and key messaging across all channels and marketing collateral
  • Manage and execute marketing initiatives globally and locally both online and offline including print, advertising, email marketing, social media and digital
  • Working in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure all education outputs project a cohesive and integrated brand, whilst respecting local requirements. This includes print, digital, merchandise, events and content
  • Ensure all marketing materials are delivered to a high standard, within deadline
  • Manage relationship with digital agency working collaboratively to deliver digital campaigns taking an agile approach to achieve maximum ROI
  • Oversee the global marketing budget, work with the Business Manager to ensure no unapproved overspend
  • Undertake the production process for marketing plans, including liaising with relevant members of staff to manage collateral outputs each month including:
    • Continuing Education & Online team meetings
    • Managing project management system, or equivalent
    • Resource management
    • Copyright and obtain approval/clearance from Christie’s Legal
    • Proofing and amending content
    • Organizing photoshoots and video production
  • Identify opportunities for strategic collaborations to leverage cross-promotional marketing opportunities and harness networks
  • Design and execute campaigns to market and promote bespoke learning opportunities to key corporates – banking/finance/legal as well as HNWIs
  • Perform in-house, competitor and client analyses to inform and shape new courses/events
  • Deliver focused and targeted marketing campaigns across the sales funnel to drive client acquisition, engagement and retention
  • Identifies opportunity gaps and oversees planning across all marketing
  • Identify and target audiences outside Christie’s through innovative tactics
  • Develop and execute end-to-end campaigns to generate growth. Use insights from previous campaigns to inform future strategy through accurate measurement of impact
  • Introduce new channels of communication and optimise through A/B testing
  • Increase brand through PR and Communications initiatives both internally and externally

Digital

  • Working in collaboration with the digital team to manage content on website and social channels to ensure accuracy and conforms to consumer regulations
  • Live streaming and publish stories real time on social – Instagram / WeChat
  • Maintain strong relationship with the corporate CRM team to ensure email campaigns dispatched on schedule to target audience
  • Management of MailChimp to ensure GDPR compliance for client database and continuous optimization of email marketing campaigns
  • Continuous optimization of SEO, embedded within digital content and campaigns
  • Identifying new social media trends, features and potential areas for audience growth and evolve channels
  • Monitoring digital analytics platform and use insights to improve output
  • Provide insightful campaign reports to measure effectiveness and ROI

Teamwork

  • Be an active member of the teams and represent on any forums or committees as necessary
  • Manage the marketing inboxes and ensure the allocation of tasks in partnership with global marketing colleagues
  • Works with Business Manager to extract accurate information across all interactions and uses this to guide business direction
  • Works with Programme Directors and Business Manager to strategically scale business

Enhancing Christie’s Education brand

  • Represent Christie’s Education and build alliances/networks of key influencers where possible.
  • In collaboration with the Digital team maintain Christie’s Education online presence on external websites and social channels
  • Source local and global advertising opportunities
  • Work with the Front of House and Events teams to ensure all marketing materials are supplied where necessary.
  • Support continuing education events with top quality marketing materials and assets, and by supporting the programme directors with the event management if required.
  • Works effectively with colleagues across departments at Christie’s in all key regions (Asia, EMEA and Americas)

Skills and Experience:

  • History of Art Degree or Marketing Degree
  • Proven success with marketing e-commerce business, background in strategic international marketing
  • Experience of working in the Art World, in particular with audience engagement initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to create and edit copy
  • Experienced in digital marketing with strategic campaign planning, analyzing metrics and increasing conversion rates
  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platform and best practices for each region including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, WeChat and Weibo
  • Experience with display advertising, PPC, SEO, Google Ads, Facebook Ads
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Knowledge and experience with website CMS and MailChimp platforms
  • Excellent client facing skills and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Marketing language in English, Cantonese and Mandarin preferable
  • Ability to work self-directed and under supervision, strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritise work and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with a flexible and positive approach to new tasks and responsibilities
  • Proven record in multiplying social media followers across a range of channels
  • Awareness of local platforms for marketing as well as regional offices
  • Experience  with data analysis; loves data and will analyse complete marketing funnel
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of standard software/platforms (Adobe Creative, CRM, Analytics etc)
